Early Career Scientists (ECS) Awards

 

There will be a contest for the best oral presentation and the best poster. The contests are open to early career scientists ONLY (bachelor and master students, PhD students, scientists who have received their PhD within the past eight years).

  • The first prize for each contest is a waived fee for submission of a manuscript to the open-access journal Hydrology and Earth System Sciences.
  • The second prize for the oral and poster contests is a waived fee for submission of a manuscript to the open-access journals Hydrology Research, and Journal of Agricultural Engineering (Scopus-indexed), respectively.
  • The third prize for each contest is a 6-month free access for a manuscript submitted to and published in Hydrological Science Journal. In the latter case, the paper will be considered for the selection of featured article by the journal editors.

Moreover, the ERB medal will be awarded to a scientist who has actively contributed to research in small catchments and the activities of the ERB. The recipient will give a medal lecture.

Second prize: Soheil Zehsaz, Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Sciences and Technology, University of Coimbra, Portugal; Marine and Environmental Sciences Centre (MARE), Coimbra, Portugal.

Third prize (equal merit): Eliza Płaczkowska, RWTH Aachen University, Germany, and Alessandro Montemagno, Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology, Luxembourg

Best poster:

First prize: Ginevra Fabiani, Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology, Belvaux, Luxembourg; Department of Agriculture, Food, Environment and Forestry, University of Florence, Italy, Doctoral School in Science and Engineering (DSSE), University of Luxembourg, Belval, Luxembourg

Second prize: Karl Nicolaus van Zweel, Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology, Belvaux, Luxembourg

Third prize: Gauthier Victor, Department of Geography, University of Zurich, Switzerland
